FRIDAY LIVE: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Sept. 19, 1978, Passaic, N.J.

In honor of Father's Day, here's a special performance by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.

It includes an early version of "Independence Day," the greatest song ever about father/son relationships.

Culled from a radio broadcast of a Jersey show in Passaic, this show might just be the best representation of the group's classic 1978 Darkness Tour.

My dad and mom, Springsteen fans living in Hershey, Pa., at the time, might've been at this concert.

But they were home taking care of their baby boy.
