UniverSoul Circus drops two shows near Bradenton



UniverSoul Circus has canceled the first two of its seven Tampa shows. A circus official said that Tampa is the first stop on the "Mash It Up" tour, and logistical problems involving acquiring of equipment popped up.

So the two shows scheduled for Thursday are off. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows are still on. If you have tickets for Thursday, contact Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) for a refund. 

UniverSoul Circus is a 19-year-old company based in Atlanta that tours the country with an energetic show that combines traditional circus acts, theater and all sorts of music, from pop and hip-hop to jazz and gospel. This year's edition includes ice skaters and king fu acrobats. It's all performed under a big top with lots of audience interaction. "Fun for the entire family," the company official said.

Details: Feb. 22-24 in the parking lot of Raymond James Stadium, 4201 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa. 7:30 p.m. evening shows, 4 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday. Tickets $16-$30.
