Patrick Barlow's stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchock's "The 39 Steps" features 150 characters, 30 locations and a mere four actors.
As you might imagine, it's a tough play to pull off.
"The 39 Steps" opens at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota on Dec. 8 (previews) 10 (opening night).
I recently spoke with director Eric Hissom, who starred in the national tour of the play, and actor Curran Connor about the difficulties of transforming the Hitchcock thriller into a laugh-out-loud stage farce.
